RESOLUTION WAIVING THE COMPETITIVE BID PROCESS AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF 16 “EAGLE MODEL 754 PORTABLE VENTILATORS” FROM PROGRESSIVE MEDICAL INTERNATIONAL

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, on June 6, 2006, the Board of Supervisors adopted a resolution waiving the competitive bidding process and authorizing the purchase of sixteen “Eagle Model 754 Portable Ventilators” for use in the response to terrorism and other major events; and

WHEREAS, it was subsequently learned that while the resolution included the name of the manufacturer of the ventilators, which is Impact Instrumentation, Inc it did not name the vendor, which is Progressive Medical International; and

WHEREAS, in order to complete the transaction, it is necessary for the Board of Supervisors to adopt a resolution including the name of the vendor of the ventilators, which is Progressive Medical International.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Competitive Bid Process is waived and Board of Supervisors authorizes the Purchasing Agent to issue a Purchase Order in the amount of $146,121.40 to Progressive Medical International for the purchase of 16 “Eagle Model 754 Portable Ventilators.”
