BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING: (A) THE ENDORSEMENT OF THE PROPOSED INTERAGENCY COUNCIL STRUCTURE AND PURPOSE FOR HOPE (HOUSING OUR PEOPLE EFFECTIVELY), SAN MATEO COUNTY’S TEN YEAR PLAN TO END HOMELESSNESS; (B) THE DESIGNATION OF THE SELECTED ORGANIZATIONS TO REPRESENT PROVIDERS AND THE COMMUNITY-AT-LARGE; AND (C) THE APPOINTMENT OF THE REPRESENTATIVES FROM THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO THE INTERAGENCY COUNCIL.

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, this Board previously approved to endorse the County’s 10 Year Plan to Prevent and End Homelessness, pursuant to which a Interagency Council (IAC) was to be created for the purpose of working in the three areas of: A) Intra-County Planning and Coordination; B) City/County Planning and Coordination; and C) Government/Non-profit Program Development and Refinement; and

 

WHEREAS, the IAC will be responsible for establishing priorities, approving project plans and endorsing projects for further approval to the appropriate jurisdictional entity(s) and will also forward recommendations to the Blue Committee in support of their role and responsibilities; and

 

WHEREAS, the IAC will establish and oversee the implementation of Memoranda of Understanding with Housing Endowment and Regional Trust (HEART) and the Housing Leadership Council for fund development and advocacy support; and

 

WHEREAS, it is in the IAC’s interest to designate representatives from organizations with extensive knowledge of homelessness in San Mateo County to represent providers and the community at large on the IAC and it is further acknowledged that the following organizations/entities satisfy such criteria: Shelter Network, Samaritan House, Mental Health Association, Mid-Peninsula Housing Coalition, Peninsula Clergy Network, Housing Nachos, Police Chief Association, the Daly City/Colma Chamber of Commerce, and Continuum of Care,

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED THAT:

    A. The Board of Supervisors hereby endorses the creation of the IAC for the purposes set forth in the County’s 10 Year Plan to prevent and End Homelessness; and

    B. The Board further approves the designation of the following organizations with extensive knowledge of homelessness in San Mateo County to represent providers and the community-at-large on the IAC: Shelter Network, Samaritan House, Mental Health Association, Mid-Peninsula Housing Coalition, Peninsula Clergy Network, Housing Nachos, Police Chief Association, the Daly City/Colma Chamber of Commerce and Continuum of Care; and

    C. The Board hereby appoints Supervisors Jerry Hill and Mark Church as its representatives to the Interagency council.
