RESOLUTION 1) AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH THE LEWIN GROUP FOR THE PERIOD AUGUST 1, 2006 THROUGH SEPTEMBER 1, 2007 FOR A TOTAL OBLIGATION NOT TO EXCEED $293,750; 2) AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF HEALTH TO EXECUTE SUBSEQUENT AMENDMENTS AND MINOR MODIFICATIONS NOT TO EXCEED AN AGGREGATE OF $25,000 AND TO MAKE MINOR CHANGES IN THE TYPES OF SERVICES AND ACTIVITIES PROVIDED UNDER THE AGREEMENT

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance an Agreement, reference to which is hereby made for further particulars, whereby The Lewin Group shall provide projections of the service needs of the aging population for the years 2020-2030; and

WHEREAS, the term of the Agreement is August 1, 2006 through September 1, 2007, for a total obligation of $293,750; and

WHEREAS, The aging population is expected to increase substantially by the years 2020-2030; and

WHEREAS, The San Mateo County Health Department, as the lead County agency for the wellbeing of the older adult population, is committed to preparing itself for the needs of the growing and changing senior population; and

WHEREAS, The Health Department seeks to accurately predict this population’s future characteristics and needs to be able to continue to provide a coordinated continuum of care in the years 2020-2030; and

WHEREAS, this Board of Supervisors has been presented with a form of the Agreement and has examined and approved the Agreement as to form and content and desires to enter into the Agreement.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto; and

BE IT RESOLVED that the Director of Health is authorized to execute subsequent amendments and minor modifications not to exceed an aggregate of $25,000 and to make minor changes in the type of services and activities provided under the Agreement.
