RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A THIRD AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF DALY CITY, JEFFERSON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT, BAYSHORE SCHOOL DISTRICT, SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT, AND BRISBANE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT TO PROVIDE AFTER-SCHOOL AND KINDERGARTEN READINESS SERVICES EXTENDING THE TERM TO JUNE 30, 2007, INCREASING THE AMOUNT BY $230,374 TO $669,039, $161,262 IS NET COUNTY COST

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No.66754, the Board authorized the execution of an Agreement with the City of Daly City, Jefferson Elementary School District, Bayshore School District, South San Francisco Unified School District, and Brisbane School District (collectively, the “Daly City Peninsula Partnership Collaborative”) in the amount of $430,000 for the purpose of providing after-school and kindergarten readiness services to all sixteen Daly City public elementary schools for the term of July 1, 2004 through June 30, 2006; and

WHEREAS, the Agreement was amended in April 2005 and January 2006 for the purpose providing an additional aggregate of $8,665 in funds as a cost of business increase; and

WHEREAS, the parties wish to further amend the Agreement for the purpose of extending the term of the Agreement through June 30, 2007 and adding funds in the amount of $230,374 for FY 2006-07 for a new total obligation of $669,039 in order to continue services to promote and support Programs for school readiness and success through June 30, 2007; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with the form of such Third Amendment to the Agreement and has examined and approved the same as to both form and content and desires to enter into the same.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Third Amendment to the Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo; and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signature thereto.
