Resolution Rejecting the Bids Received and Authorizing the Director of Public Works to Re-Advertise 2006 Coastside Cape And Slurry Seal Project for Bid (F-306 [D])

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, this Board did, on July 12, 2005, adopt Resolution No. 067454, which authorized the Director of Public Works to develop plans and specifications and to call for bids for projects identified in said resolution; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works prepared plans and specifications and called for sealed bids for 2006 Coastside Cape and Slurry Seal Project pursuant to Resolution No. 067454; and

WHEREAS, the Clerk of this Board of Supervisors did receive three sealed proposals for doing of the work as specified in the Project plans and specifications; and

WHEREAS, Section 22038 of the Public Contract Code provides that a public agency may, at its discretion, reject all bids as presented and re-advertise the same work for bids; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has recommended that the bids be rejected and that the Director of Public Works be authorized to re-advertise the project for bid in the Spring of 2007; and

WHEREAS, this Board has considered and concurs in the recommendation of the Director of Public Works.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that:

The bids received on July 18, 2006 are hereby rejected.

2.

The Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to re-advertise the project for bid in the Spring of 2007 as provided by Section 22038 of the Public Contract Code.
