RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF FIRST AMENDMENTS TO THE AGREEMENTS WITH CHILD CARE COORDINATING COUNCIL (CCCC) AND PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR CHILDHOOD EDUCATION (PACE) TO PROVIDE STAGE 2 CHILD CARE AND DEVELOPMENT SERVICES, THE TERM OF EACH AGREEMENT REMAINS JULY 1, 2005 THROUGH JUNE 20, 2008, INCREASING THE AMOUNTS BY $1,938,916 TO $4,072,336 FOR CCCC; AND $484,729 TO $1,018,084 FOR PACE

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo receives yearly allocations from the California Department of Education (CDE) to administer Stage 2 child care and developmental services through the Child Care Coordinating Council and the Professional Association For Childhood Education who are the specified Contractors for such services; and

WHEREAS, the County is the fiscal agent for these funds and on July 1, 2005, the County entered into Agreements for the term of July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2008, with CCCC by Resolution Number 067447 in the amount of $2,133,420 and PACE by Resolution Number 067448 in the amount of $533,355; and

WHEREAS, the County and the Contractors wish to amend the Agreements for the purpose of adding allocations from CDE for continued services in FY 2006-07 in the amount of $1,938,916 for CCCC and in the amount of $484,729 for PACE for a total obligation of $4,072,336 for CCCC and $1,018,084 for PACE; and

WHEREAS, This Board has been presented with a form of such First Amendments to the Agreements and said Board has examined and approved same as to both form and content and desires to enter into the same.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized and directed to execute said First Amendment to the Agreements for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signature thereto.
