RESOLUTION APPROVING THE COUNTYWIDE
VEHICLE THEFT TASK FORCE FY 2006-07 ANNUAL BUDGET.

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the Countywide Vehicle Theft Task Force (VTTF) was established in 1994 under the administration of the Countywide Narcotics Task Force (CNTF) to investigate, analyze, and prosecute vehicle theft crimes; and

WHEREAS, under Vehicle Code Section 9250.14, a fee of one dollar ($1) is collected at the time of registration or renewal of registration of every vehicle in the County to fund investigation activities of the VTTF; and

WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the County that the services of the VTTF continue due to the significant impact on the abatement of vehicle theft crime; and

WHEREAS, the VTTF Advisory Board has approved and now recommends to this Board of Supervisors for adoption, the VTTF FY 2006-07 Annual Budget; and

WHEREAS, this Board of Supervisors has been presented with a form of said budget and has approved same as to form and content;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT: the VTTF FY 2006-07 Annual Budget is hereby approved by this Board of Supervisors.
