Employee of the Month for September 2006

RECOMMENDATION

Honor Rigoberto Garcia as Employee of the Month for September 2006 and authorize the President of the Board to sign the commendation.

BACKGROUND

The Employee of the Month program was established in December 1984 to recognize and honor County employees who consistently demonstrate an outstanding level of performance.

Our Employee of the Month for September 2006 is Rigoberto (Bob) Garcia a Public Services Specialist in the Environmental Health Division of the Health Department.

DISCUSSION

Bob displays positive client services, both on the phone and in person. He is always pleasant and consistently provides complete and accurate information to clients as well as co-workers. His patience is remarkable no matter how many questions he is asked by the public or his fellow employees. Bob is always positive with a ready smile and encourages clients with his approachability. Bob has a thorough understanding of the mission and role of the Environmental Health Division which allows him to assist clients with complex and sensitive questions and concerns. Bob is compassionate and is also excels in taking ownership and responsibility for his position. All of these qualities allow Bob to serve as an excellent first line of contact for the clients who come to Environmental Health, giving them a positive first impression of the Division and the County.

Our County is fortunate to have Bob as one of its outstanding employees.
