RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AMENDMENTS 2006-02,
2006-02A AND 2006-3 TO THE HOSPITAL AGREEMENT WITH THE
SAN MATEO HEALTH COMMISSION

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance Amendments 2006-02, 2006-02A, and 2006-3 to the Hospital Agreement with the San Mateo Health Commission reference to which is hereby made for further particulars, whereby the San Mateo Health Commission is revising the Acute Medical/Surgical Day per Diem rate and is implementing a supplemental payment to San Mateo Medical Center; and

WHEREAS, Amendment 2006-02 revises the Acute Medical/Surgical Day per diem rate, includes language regarding a mid-year supplemental payment to San Mateo Medical Center, and includes language on what the rate increase and the supplemental payment are conditioned upon for Fiscal Year 2005-06; and

WHEREAS, Amendment 2006-02A revises Amendment 2006-02 to include Fiscal Year 2006-07; and

WHEREAS, for the Health Plan of San Mateo’s (HPSM) 2006 budget, the Commission approved “payment incentives” to be distributed to their contract hospital in recognition of their willingness to continue serving HPSM members during difficult financial times. Amendment 2006-3 to the Hospital Agreement allows the San Mateo Health Commission to implement a supplemental payment of $967,287.49 to San Mateo Medical Center ; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of the Amendments to the Agreement and has examined and approved it as to both form and content and desires to enter into the Amendments to the Agreement:

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Amendments to the Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signature thereto.
