RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING | ||||
KENNY LIN | ||||

WHEREAS, on this sixteenth day of September, 2006, KENNY LIN is honored for his gracious generosity and extraordinary skill in performing a benefit piano concert for the City of Millbrae School Music Program; and | ||||
WHEREAS, KENNY LIN is a 12 year old classical pianist; and | ||||
WHEREAS, KENNY LIN has studied for years under pianist Mr. Scott Pratt; and | ||||
WHEREAS, KENNY LIN performed his first major concert at the age of only 9 years old before an audience of more than 500 persons in Reno, Nevada; and | ||||
WHEREAS, KENNY LIN is performing the First and Second movements of the famous concerto “Yellow River” as the soloist with Scott Pratt as accompanist; and | ||||
WHEREAS, the “Yellow River Concerto” was arranged by Yin, Cheng-Zong based on the “Yellow River Cantata” composed by Xian, Xing-Hai in early 1939 during the Second Sino-Japanese War. The work was inspired by a patriotic poem by Guang, Wei-Ran which was also adapted as the lyrics. Premiering on April 13 of the same year, the work soon spread to all parts of China and greatly inspired the people to take up arms against Japanese invaders. | ||||
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, on this sixteenth day of September, 2006, expresses congratulations and sincere gratitude to KENNY LIN for his inspiring contributions to music and for his goodwill toward the betterment of our community. The Board wishes him much happiness and future success. | ||||
