THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING

 

M. Joseph Collins

Upon his retirement after 15 years with the

Daly City Police Department

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

WHEREAS, M. Joseph Collins joined the Daly City Police Department on April 1, 1991, after graduating from the Police Academy at Evergreen College in San Jose; and

   

WHEREAS, after serving for a decade as a patrol officer, Joe became a detective on Jan. 18, 2001, and held that position until retirement; and

   

WHEREAS, over the years Joe earned four Departmental Commendations, including a Gold Commendation and a Medal of Valor for his actions during an incident involving an armed suspect who barricaded herself in a home after setting fire to the structure; and

   

WHEREAS, Joe brought honor to his badge and held the respect of his fellow officers, underscored by his 20 Unit Commendations and 14 letters of thanks from citizens for his professionalism and compassion; and

   

WHEREAS, Joe has distinguished himself as a law enforcement professional, a mentor to his fellow officers, a protector of Daly City and as a role model for its youth.

   

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County congratulates M. Joseph Collins upon his retirement from the Daly City Police Department after 15 years of dedicated service. The Board hereby extends sincere wishes to Joe and his family for luck in all future endeavors, plus many more years of continuous peace and happiness.
