RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING | ||||
Richard Frederick Farrar | ||||
Upon his retirement after 27 years with the Daly City Police Department | ||||

WHEREAS, Richard Frederick Farrar joined the Daly City Police Department in February 1980, after serving as an officer with the Bedfordshire Police Department and with the County of Kent Police Department, both in his native Britain; and | ||||
WHEREAS, Richard decided to apply to the Daly City, Pacifica and Kensington Police Departments soon after a US visit under the auspices of the International Police Association; all three departments offered Richard a position; and | ||||
WHEREAS, after choosing Daly City, Richard attended and excelled in his training class at the College of the Redwoods Police Academy, which also elected him as class president; and | ||||
WHEREAS, over the years, Richard served in numerous positions, including as a motorcycle officer specializing in accident investigations, range master, field training officer, Traffic Unit sergeant and hazardous materials officer. Richard also helped start Daly City’s Community Oriented Policing Unit; and | ||||
WHEREAS, throughout his career, Richard earned 29 Departmental Commendation, 13 Departmental Memoranda of Recognition and 61 letters of appreciation from citizens and other agencies. | ||||
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County congratulates Richard Frederick Farrar upon his retirement from the Daly City Police Department after 27 years of dedicated service. The Board hereby extends sincere wishes to Richard and his family for luck in all future endeavors, plus many more years of continuous peace and happiness. | ||||
