Resolution Authorizing an Increase in Aggregate Payments to the Contractor for the Pedestrian Signal Upgrade Project at Various Locations - County Wide (Project No. RH601, F-358 [10D])

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, this Board of Supervisors did, on May 23, 2006, adopt a Resolution for the award and authorized execution of a contract with Republic Electric for the Pedestrian Signal Upgrade Project; and

WHEREAS, the County did enter into an Agreement with Republic Electric, as authorized by said Resolution; and

WHEREAS, the Agreement provides that aggregate payments to Pacific Electric Company, shall not exceed $94,500 without this Board’s approval; and

WHEREAS, it is anticipated that the changes in the project will increase the overall contract cost to an amount greater than was originally authorized by this Board; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has recommended that the not-to-exceed figure as originally approved by this Board be increased to provide for unanticipated work; and

WHEREAS, this Board has considered and concurs in the recommendation of the Director of Public Works.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that

1.

The Agreement is hereby amended to provide that aggregate payments to Republic Electric for said work shall not exceed the sum of One Hundred and One Thousand Six Hundred Dollars ($101,600) without this Board’s approval.

2.

With the exception of modification as herein provided, the Agreement with Republic Electric, entered into on May 23, 2006 shall remain unchanged.
