SUBJECT:

Resolution 632-C authorizing the Director of the Department of Housing to submit an application for Operating Subsidy to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for Federal Funding year January 1, 2007 to December 31, 2007.

 

RECOMMENDATION:

Adopt Resolution 632-C authorizing the Director of the Department of Housing to submit an application for Operating Subsidy to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for Federal Funding year January 1, 2007 to December 31, 2007.

Goal(s): #9. Housing exists for people of all income levels and for all generations of families.

The action contributes to this commitment and goal by using the funds to operate our public housing units and making them available for the citizens of San Mateo County.

BACKGROUND:

HUD makes operating subsidy funds available to housing authorities to assist in the operation of public housing units. HUD regulations require that the Housing Authority receive Board approval to submit an application for operating subsidy.

 

DISCUSSION:

This Resolution is required by HUD to process an application for operating subsidy.

County Counsel has reviewed and approved the Resolution as to form.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no financial impact to the General Fund. The total cost will be provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). There is no Net County cost.
