Accepting these donations aligns with Goals No. 2 and 7 by encouraging civic engagement and volunteerism, as well as maintaining and enhancing public safety of all residents and visitors.
BACKGROUND | ||
The new Margaret J. Kemp Camp (MJKC) is the first gender-responsive facility in California for adolescent girls in the juvenile justice system. The MJKC will feature a library which will be stocked with gender-appropriate books and educational materials that will be made available to adolescent girls and their families, and to MJKC staff. Donations are being accepted to fund the acquisition of books and materials since these costs were not included as part of the MJKC budget request.
FISCAL IMPACT | ||
There is no cost associated with the acceptance of this gift and thus there is no effect on the net County cost. |
