BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AMENDMENT TWO TO THE AGREEMENT WITH TELECOMMUNICATIONS ENGINEERS ASSOCIATES (TEA) TO PROVIDE AND INSTALL EQUIPMENT UPGRADING THE COUNTY’S FIRE SERVICE RADIO SYSTEM, EXTENDING THE TERM TWO MONTHS TO DECEMBER 31, 2006.

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, TEA has been upgrading and installing new radio and communication systems in San Mateo County for the past 18 years; and

WHEREAS, since 1999 TEA developed, installed, and maintained the County Fire Service’s radio infrastructure; and

WHEREAS, on November 11, 2005, this Board authorized the execution of an Agreement (Resolution No. 067635) with TEA to upgrade the County Fire Service’s radio, data, and communications systems, with a term commencing on September 1, 2005 through September 30, 2006, and an amount not to exceed $375,000; and

WHEREAS, the parties have subsequently adopted Amendment One (Resolution No. 68315) on September 19, 2006, to the Agreement, for provision of purchasing and installing additional equipment needed to complete the Fire Radio Upgrade Project, increasing the contractual maximum by $84,210, from $375,000 to $459,210; and

WHEREAS, it is now the mutual desire and intent of the parties to make further modifications and amendments to this Agreement extending the term two months to December 31, 2006; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such Amendment Two and has examined and approved same as to both form and content, and desires to enter into same:

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized to, execute Amendment Two to the Agreement with TEA, for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board of Supervisors shall attest the President’s signature thereto.
