SUBJECT:

Appointment to the San Mateo County Regional Housing Needs Assessment (RHNA) Sub-Region Policy Advisory Committee (PAC)

RECOMMENDATION:

Appoint Supervisor Rose Jacobs Gibson to serve on the Policy Advisory Committee (PAC) of the San Mateo County RHNA Sub-Region.

BACKGROUND:

All twenty cities plus the County are the first group in the Bay Area to make use of the State legislation allowing cities and counties to form a sub-region to plan how to accommodate State requirements to develop housing for population growth. The City/County Association of Governments (C/CAG) has been selected as the entity that will manage the process for the San Mateo County Sub-Region.

DISCUSSION:

A Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) and Policy Advisory Committee (PAC) are being formed as a part of the organizational structure and process. The primary role of the PAC is to review the RHNA TAC recommendations and provide initial policy input to the process.
