Amendment to the Agreement with the Pacifica Resource Center/ A Project of the Tides Center

 

RECOMMENDATION:

Adopt a Resolution:

A.

Authorizing an Amendment to the Agreement with Pacifica Resource Center/A Project of the Tides Center to provide Core Services, for the term of July 1, 2006 to June 30, 2007, increasing the amount by $8,620 to $105, 535, $8,620 is Net County Cost; and

 

B.

Authorizing the Director of the Human Services Agency or the Director’s designee to execute contract amendments which modify the County’s maximum fiscal obligation by no more than $25,000 (in aggregate), and/or modify the contract term and/or services so long as the modified term or services is/are within the current or revised fiscal provisions.

This Amendment to the Agreement contributes to this commitment and goal by providing San Mateo County residents with information, general assistance, case management, emergency material assistance and employment related activities through the seven Core agencies.

BACKGROUND:

In September and October of 2006, the County Manager’s Office and the Board of Supervisors approved seven (7) Agreements with the CORE Services Agencies. These CORE Services Agencies provide an array of Safety Net Services to the residents of San Mateo County, including information and referral, emergency assistance, case management and other related services. The CORE services also provide access to the County’s Human Services delivery system and serves as part of the network to prevent homelessness.

 

DISCUSSION:

The Board of Supervisors approved an increase in funding for Fiscal Year 2006-07 in the amount of $70,000 for the CORE Services Agencies during the June 26, 2006 Budget Hearings (Resolution Number 068319). As a result of this increase, the remaining six (6) CORE Services Agencies will receive funding increasing their total obligations by $61,380. The total obligation for Pacifica will increase by $8,620 from $96,915 to $105,535 for the FY 2006-07.

 

The Contractor has assured compliance with the County’s Contractor Employee Jury Services Ordinance, as well as all other contract provisions that are required by County ordinance and administrative memoranda, including but not limited to insurance, hold harmless, non-discrimination, equal benefits and jury service policy.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

The term of the Agreement will remain the same, July 1, 2006 through June 30, 2007. This Amendment will increase the Agreement by $8,620, which is 100% Net County Cost and is included in the Adopted Budget for FY 2006-07. The Total Contract obligation is $105,535.
