Resolution Increasing the Not-to-Exceed Amount of the Contract for Retrofitting the Roof Panels and the Installation of Seismic Dampers at the San Mateo County Hall of Justice – Redwood City (Projects No. P2205)

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, this Board of Supervisors did, on August 31, 2004, adopt Resolution No. 66898, which awarded and authorized execution of a contract with Gonsalves and Stronck Construction Co., Inc., for Retrofitting the Roof Panels and the Installation of Seismic Dampers at the San Mateo County Hall of Justice; and

 

WHEREAS, the County did enter into an agreement (Agreement) with Gonsalves and Stronck Construction Co., Inc., as authorized by said resolution; and

 

WHEREAS, the Agreement provides that aggregate payments to Gonsalves and Stronck Construction Co., Inc., shall not exceed $2,730,000 without the Board’s approval; and

 

    WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has recommended that the not-to-exceed figure as originally approved by this Board be increased to include all additional work; and

 

    WHEREAS, this Board has considered and concurs with the recommendation of the Director of Public Works.

 

    NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that:

 

    1.

The Agreement with Gonsalves and Stronck Construction Co., Inc., entered on
August 31, 2004, for Retrofitting the Roof Panels and the Installation of Seismic Dampers at the San Mateo County Hall of Justice, Redwood City, is hereby amended to provide that aggregate payments to Gonsalves and Stronck Construction Co., Inc., for said work shall not exceed the sum of Two Million Nine Hundred Ninety-Sixty Thousand Seven Hundred Seventy-Nine Dollars ($2,996,779) without this Board’s approval.

 

    2.

That, with the exception of modification as herein provided, the aforementioned Agreement with Gonsalves and Stronck Construction Co., Inc. shall remain unchanged.
