RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY MANAGER

ON BEHALF OF THE COUNTY TO PURCHASE REAL PROPERTY

LOCATED AT 525 MARSHALL STREET IN REDWOOD CITY

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 68144 dated July 18, 2006, this Board authorized and directed the execution of a Lease with Option to Purchase Agreement (“Agreement”), dated July 19, 2006, for real property described as APN: 052-344-110, together with the improvements thereon, and more commonly known as 525 Marshall Street, Redwood City, (the “Property”), and;

WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 68370 adopted on November 7, 2006, this Board declared its intention to purchase the Property;

WHEREAS, the Clerk of this Board has published once a week for three successive weeks in the San Mateo Times, in the form and manner provided by law, a Notice of Intention to purchase the Property, and;

WHEREAS, a public hearing was held before this Board of Supervisors on this day, and this Board heard all persons interested in the proposed purchase of the Property and considered all evidence offered before voting on the purchase, and;

WHEREAS, pursuant to Government Code Section 65402, Redwood City was notified of the proposed purchase of the Property and issued a finding that the purchase conforms with the City’s General Plan, and;

WHEREAS, this Board has determined that it is necessary and desirable to exercise the option pursuant to the Agreement and purchase the Property on behalf of the County of San Mateo.

 

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED as follows:

    1. That the County Manager execute the option to purchase real property at 525 Marshall Street for $1,000,000 pursuant to that certain Office Lease and Option to Purchase Agreement (the “Agreement”) dated July 19, 2006.

2. That the County Manager or his designee sign escrow instructions and execute any and all notices, consents, approvals, deeds, certificates of acceptance and documents in connection with the purchase of the real property located at 525 Marshall Street.
