RESOLUTION UPON THE RETIREMENT | ||||
REV. WENDY J. TAYLOR | ||||

WHEREAS, WENDY TAYLOR founded and served for eight years as Executive Director of Puente de la Costa Sur; and | ||||
WHEREAS, WENDY TAYLOR was an English, Spanish, ESL and SSL, Humanities, and P.E. teacher for a career spanning 17 years; and | ||||
WHEREAS, WENDY TAYLOR spent time in Latin America, including time as a VISTA volunteer in Puerto Rico, as a lay missioner in Peru, and as a chaperone for 13 high school students living and studying in Monterey, Coahuila, Mexico; and WHEREAS, WENDY TAYLOR was a delegate to the International Conference of the Mothers of the Disappeared (Las Camadres) in San Salvador, El Salvador; and WHEREAS, WENDY TAYLOR also coordinated an International Women’s Day delegation of women seminarians with ‘Witness for Peace’ in Nicaragua; and | ||||
WHEREAS, WENDY TAYLOR served the community for 10 years at the Congregational Church of Belmont, United Church of Chris; and WHEREAS, as the Executive Director of Puente de la Costa Sur, WENDY TAYLOR has made outreach to the migrant farm worker community a top priority, and has given this community a voice on South Coast affairs. | ||||
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors congratulates WENDY TAYLOR on her retirement, and extends its best wishes to her in the coming years. Wendy will always be remembered for her many contributions to the community. | ||||
