RESOLUTION CONSOLIDATING THE AUDIT COMMITTEE AND THE PERFORMANCE AUDIT/MANAGEMENT REVIEW SUBCOMMITTEE INTO A SINGLE STANDING SUBCOMMITTEE OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO BE KNOWN AS THE AUDIT COMMITTEE

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that
|
|
|
WHEREAS, on February 4, 2003, this Board adopted Resolution No. 65808, establishing an Audit Committee, consisting of two members of the Board of Supervisors and the County Manager and his or her designee, for the purpose of overseeing the audits of the County’s financial statements; and
|
|
|
WHEREAS, on October 4, 2005, this Board established, by motion, a Performance Audit/Management Review Subcommittee for the purpose of evaluating recommendations of, and overseeing the implementation of, performance audits and management reviews of County departments and officials; and
|
|
|
WHEREAS, it would serve the interests of efficiency to combine the functions of these two committees into one committee;
|
|
|
NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that:
|
|
|
The Audit Committee and Performance Audit/Management Review Subcommittees are hereby consolidated into a single standing committee of the Board of Supervisors, to be known as the Audit Committee.
|
|
|
Until such time as reappointments are made, the two members of the Board of Supervisors currently appointed to serve on the Performance Audit/Management Review Subcommittee shall serve as the members of the newly created Audit Committee.
|
|
|
The County Manager, or his or her designee, and the County Controller, or his or her designee, shall serve as staff to the Audit Committee.
