RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING: (A) THE WAIVER OF THE REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) PROCESS; AND (B) THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH PENINSULA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION TO PROVIDE A PROJECT MANAGER FOR THE FOSTERING THE FUTURE PROGRAM, FOR THE TERM OF OCTOBER 1, 2006 TO JUNE 30, 2007, IN THE AMOUNT OF $134,413, $94,089 IS NET COUNTY COST

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance an Agreement with Peninsula Community Foundation, for the purpose of providing a Project Manager to oversee the Fostering the Future Program that will help youth successfully transition to adulthood; and

WHEREAS, the term of this Agreement is October 1, 2006 through June 30, 2007 with a total obligation of $134,413; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with the form of this Agreement and has examined and approved it as to both form and content and desires to enter into said Agreement; and

WHEREAS, it is in the County’s best interests to waive the RFP process since Peninsula Community Foundation created this one of a kind program that uses an asset coach model to work individually with youth.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that

A. The Request for Proposal process is waived; and

B. The President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby, authorized and directed to execute said Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto.
