THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING

NENE DELLA MAGGIORA

ON HIS 96^TH BIRTHDAY

WHEREAS, a special gathering will take place on December 14, 2006 on the occasion of the 96^th birthday of NENE DELLA MAGGIORA; and

WHEREAS, NENE DELLA MAGGIORA is the son of San Bruno pioneers and immigrants Emilio Della Maggiora and Giovannina Gerli, who were married on January 11, 1910 and lived at 544 Hensley Avenue in San Bruno, California; and

WHEREAS, NENE DELLA MAGGIORA was born Gaetano Pietro Della Maggiora on December 14, 1910, at home on the Silverado Trail in St. Helena, California; and

WHEREAS, NENE DELLA MAGGIORA attended a one room school house until he moved to Petaluma at the age of 9 years and attended local schools; and

WHEREAS, NENE DELLA MAGGIORA married Helen Bernard in 1939 and had three children; and

WHEREAS, NENE DELLA MAGGIORA and his wife returned to San Bruno in 1980 to the house where his parents once lived; and

WHEREAS, NENE DELLA MAGGIORA has 3 children, 6 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren, and the Della Maggiora family has been pictured and written about in San Bruno Historical books published by the City of San Bruno.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, on December 14, 2006, hereby congratulates NENE DELLA MAGGIORA on his 96^th Birthday.
