Confirmation of Margaret S. Jensen as the Deputy County Manager of Community Services

RECOMMENDATION:

Confirm Margaret S. Jensen as the Deputy County Manager of Community Services.

BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:

The County has conducted a nationwide recruitment for the position of Deputy County Manager. Ms. Jensen has been nominated by the County Manager as the best candidate for this position based on her nearly 20 years of progressively responsible experience in San Mateo County. Ms. Jensen currently serves as Director of Child Support Services.

The Charter requires the Board of Supervisors to confirm appointments of department heads nominated by the County Manager.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Ms. Jensen’s monthly salary will be $14,867.
