RECOMMENDATION:
|
Appoint Jany Xu to the Community Action Agency of San Mateo County to a term expiring January 31, 2010.
|

BACKGROUND:
|
The Community Action Agency of San Mateo County, Incorporated was organized under the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964, the Community Services Administration Act of 1974 and Public Law 97-35. The agency is a duly constituted Community Action Agency (CAA) and administers anti-poverty and human services programs in San Mateo County.
|
|
The Board of Directors serves as the governing body of CSS and is comprised of not more than twelve representatives with one-third representative from the public, low income and private sector. The term of office for each Director is three years to commence on the date of installation and may serve three consecutive terms or a total of nine years.
|
|
Ms. Xu is a resident of the city of San Mateo and will represent the Board of Supervisors on the Board of Directors to a term expiring April 30, 2010.
