BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

ADOPT A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO TO ACCEPT A BAY AREA RIDGE TRAIL COUNCIL GRANT AWARD IN THE AMOUNT OF $20,000, A GOLDEN GATE NATIONAL PARK CONSERVANCY CONTRIBUTION IN THE AMOUNT OF $6,000, AND A MIDPENINSULA REGIONAL OPEN SPACE DISTRICT CONTRIBUTION IN THE AMOUNT OF $6,000 FOR A TOTAL AMOUNT OF $32,000 FOR THE BAY AREA RIDGE TRAIL FEASIBILITY STUDY; AND APPOINTING THE DIRECTOR OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AS THE COUNTY’S AGENT TO CONDUCT ALL NEGOTIATIONS, AND EXECUTE AND SUBMIT ALL DOCUMENTS INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE CONTRACT, THE GRANT AGREEMENT, AMENDMENTS, PAYMENT REQUESTS AND OTHER DOCUMENTS THAT MAY BE NECESSARY FOR THE COMPLETION OF THE AFOREMENTIONED PROJECT

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, the Bay Area Ridge Trail is a planned continuous multi-use trail for mountain bikers, equestrians, hikers/trail runners that will eventually circle the ridgeline of the San Francisco Bay Area; and

 

WHEREAS, the Bay Area Ridge Trail has received funding from the California State Coastal Conservancy to be used for Bay Area Ridge Trail planning projects;

 

WHEREAS, the County will enter into a grant contract with the Bay Area Ridge Trail Council for the Bay Area Ridge Trail Feasibility Project for the alignment between Highway 92 and Huddart Park; and

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Board of Supervisors by adoption of this resolution hereby authorizes the acceptance of a Bay Area Ridge Trail Council grant in the amount of $20,000 and accepts contributions from the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy ($6,000) and Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District ($6,000).

 

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that the Director of the Department of Parks shall be the County’s agent to conduct all negotiations, and execute and submit all documents including, but not limited to the contract, the grant agreement, amendments, payment requests and other documents that may be necessary for the completion of the aforementioned project.
