RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT (#06-0185) WITH THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF FOOD AND AGRICULTURE TO PROVIDE PEST EXCLUSION PROGRAM SERVICES FOR THE TERM JULY 1, 2006 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2007 INCREASING THE AMOUNT BY $124,484 TO A REVISED AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $405,807

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that:

WHEREAS, on August 1, 2006, the Board of Supervisors, by Resolution Number 068178, approved an Agreement (#06-0185) in the amount of $281,323 for the term of July 1, 2006 through June 30, 2007, with the California Department of Food and Agriculture for the purpose of funding pest exclusion services including High Risk Pest Exclusion inspections, and whereby California Department of Food and Agriculture will reimburse the County of San Mateo to perform high-risk pest exclusion inspection services to prevent the introduction of economically important plant pests and diseases for the California Department of Food and Agriculture as set forth in the Agreement; and

WHEREAS, both parties now wish to amend the Agreement to provide additional High Risk Pest Exclusion agricultural shipment inspection services for the period July 1, 2006 through June 30, 2007, and to increase the amount by $124,484 to a revised total obligation of $405,807; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with the amended Agreement and said Board has examined and approved same as to both form and content and desires to enter into same:

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of the Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Amendment to the Agreement (#06-0185), for a total amount not to exceed $405,807 for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of the Board shall attest to the President’s signature thereto.
