    RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A) EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH CHIS, INC. TO PROVIDE CODING OF SAN MATEO MEDICAL CENTER’S MEDICAL RECORDS ADMISSIONS AND DISCHARGES USING THE ICD-9CM CODING GUIDELINES, FOR THE TERM JANUARY 1, 2007 TO DECEMBER 31, 2009, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $615,000 AND B) AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER (CEO) OF SAN MATEO MEDICAL CENTER OR THE CEO'S DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE CONTRACT AMENDMENTS WHICH MODIFY THE COUNTY'S MAXIMUM FISCAL OBLIGATION BY NO MORE THAN $25,000 (IN AGGREGATE), AND/OR MODIFY THE CONTRACT TERM AND/OR SERVICES SO LONG AS THE MODIFIED TERM OR SERVICES IS/ARE WITHIN THE CURRENT OR REVISED FISCAL PROVISIONS

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for medical coding services at the San Mateo Medical Center; and

 

WHEREAS, CHIS, Inc.’s proposal in response to the RFP offered the lowest fixed rates; and

 

WHEREAS, CHIS, Inc. has provided satisfactory medical coding services in the past at SMMC; and

 

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board for its consideration and approval an Agreement, reference to which is hereby made for further particulars, whereby CHIS, Inc. shall provide coding of SMMC’s medical records using the prescribed coding guidelines, for a period from January 1, 2007 through December 31, 2009, in an amount not to exceed $615,000; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has been has examined and approved the Agreement as to both form and content and desires to enter into the same.

 

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signature thereto.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SMMC or the CEO's designee shall be authorized to execute contract amendments which modify the County's maximum fiscal obligation by no more than $25,000 (in aggregate), and/or modify the contract term and/or services so long as the modified term or services is/are within the current or revised fiscal provisions.
