THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING

LIEUTENANT TED SILVAS

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

WHEREAS, LT. TED SILVAS has lived in South San Francisco his entire life, received his AA degree from the College of San Mateo in June 1972, his BS degree from San Jose State University in December 1974 and completed his training at Chabot College, Alameda County Sheriff’s Academy in December 1976; and

   

WHEREAS, LT. TED SILVAS received a certificate in Advanced Officer Training from the San Francisco Police Department, a certificate for completion of Internal Affairs Investigations from San Jose State University, and a certificate for General Course of Instruction from the Federal Bureau of Investigations, United States Department of Justice at Quantico, Virginia; and

   

WHEREAS, LT. TED SILVAS has received numerous letters of appreciation from other police departments for his assistance in the arrests of armed felons, bank robbers, burglaries in progress, pursuits of suspects, recovery of stolen vehicles, locating missing persons and many other police actions; and

   

WHEREAS, LT. TED SILVAS received a Commendation from the City of Millbrae for his development and supervision of the Traffic Grant Program provided by the State Office of Traffic Safety and the National Highway Traffic Administration.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, on January 10, 2007, hereby honors and commends LIEUTENANT TED SILVAS on the occasion of his retirement from the Millbrae Police Department after 30 years of service as a Sworn Law Enforcement Officer, and thanks him for his many years of dedication and commitment to the safety and wellbeing of our community.
