COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING AND COMMENDING

 

Captain John Warren

February 2, 2007

WHEREAS, on February 22, 1977, John Warren was appointed by the Daly City Police Department as a police officer, a selection that would immediately produce benefits for the people of Daly City from his uncommon skills, intelligence, and sensitivity, and thereafter for 29 years, concluding with his retirement on October 3, 2006; and,

   

WHEREAS, over 29 years John Warren was recognized as a leader while serving on patrol, as a detective investigating some of Daly City’s most significant cases, including those involving narcotics, gangs, robbery and homicide, and additionally after graduating from the 178th Session of the FBI National Academy at Quantico, Virginia; and,

   

WHEREAS, John Warren’s uncommon leadership abilities were demonstrated in multiple positions, including those of Acting Police Chief, Operations Bureau Commander, Support Services Bureau Commander, North County Mutual Aid Commander, Gang Task Force Commander, and Vice President San Mateo County Law Enforcement Commanders Association; and,

   

WHEREAS, John Warren’s dedication to the community was further demonstrated through leadership positions in numerous important civic organizations that strengthen the health, safety and welfare of the people of Daly City.

   

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County congratulates John Warren upon his retirement from the Daly City Police Department, and wishes him and his family the best of life, health and happiness throughout the years ahead.
