RESOLUTION WAIVING THE REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS PROCESS

AND AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH

COMMUNITY OVERCOMING RELATIONSHIP ABUSE (CORA) TO PROVIDE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SERVICES FOR 2007-2009

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, Pursuant to California Welfare and Institutions Code, Division 9, Chapter 5, The Domestic Violence Centers Act, San Mateo County has developed a Domestic Violence Trust fund for the purpose of achieving reductions in serious and fatal injuries to the victims of domestic violence;

 

WHEREAS, monies are contributed to this fund pursuant to Penal Code 1203.097 from payments required of specified defendants which money will fund this contract;

 

WHEREAS, priority funding shall be given to agencies and organizations whose primary function is to administer domestic violence programs

;

 

WHEREAS, Community Overcoming Relationship Abuse (CORA) is the sole agency in San Mateo County with services solely dedicated to serving those affected by domestic violence meeting the requirements of the Domestic Violence Centers Act;

 

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with this agreement and has examined and approved it as to form and content and desires to enter into the agreement;

 

WHEREAS, both parties now wish to enter into an Agreement, to provide domestic violence prevention services for the period of January 1, 2007 through December 31, 2009, for a total obligation not to exceed $225,000.

 

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED That the Board of Supervisors waives the Request for Proposals process and authorizes the President of the Board of Supervisors to enter into an agreement with Community Overcoming Relationship Abuse (CORA) for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo and the Clerk of the Board shall attest the President's signature hereto.
