Resolution Authorizing the Director of Public Works to Proceed with the Design of the Installation of a Metal Beam Guardrail Barrier from the West End of an Existing Metal Barrier near West Orange Avenue, Westerly towards a Landscaped Island near Junipero Serra Boulevard and to Proceed with the Advertisement for Bids for the Construction (F-36 [381])

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has evaluated various options for increasing safety along Westborough Boulevard and considered the pros and cons of each option; and

WHEREAS, the South San Francisco City Council has indicated that the City Council supports the installation of a metal beam guardrail and requests the County to proceed with the installation; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has recommended the installation of a metal beam guardrail at the above-mentioned location; and

WHEREAS, the Board has considered and concurs in the recommendation of the Director of Public Works.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to proceed with the design of the installation of a metal beam guardrail barrier from the west end of an existing metal barrier near West Orange Avenue, westerly towards a landscaped island near Junipero Serra Boulevard and to proceed with the advertisement for bids for the construction.
