RECOMMENDATION:

Appoint the following individuals to the Commission on the Status of Women:
|
Jei Africa and Sapna Singh to a term expiring December 31, 2008
|
Regina Wallace Jones to a term expiring December 31, 2009
|
Ruth Fullmer and Sandra Schuster to a term expiring December 31, 2010
|

BACKGROUND:
|
The Commission is charged with the responsibility of assessing the needs of women, girls and families in the County and acts as a resource and makes annual recommendations to the Board of Supervisors.
|
|
|
DISCUSSION:
|
There are four vacancies on the Board that will be filled by Ms. Africa, Ms. Singh, Ms. Fullmer and Ms. Schuster. Ms. Jones replaces Maria Martinez Torres who resigned from the commission.
