RESOLUTION
   

THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING

SERGEANT PETER JOSEPH TOKARSKI

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

WHEREAS, SERGEANT PETER JOSEPH TOKARSKI was hired in 1976 by the Redwood City Police Department as an officer, in 1977 joined the Burlingame Police Department, and has worked in a variety of positions throughout his illustrious law enforcement career; and

   

WHEREAS, SERGEANT PETER JOSEPH TOKARSKI rose through the ranks of the Burlingame Police Department and was appointed inspector, was responsible for the investigation of property crimes, taught new officers police methods as a Field Training Officer, and handled a variety of duties including patrol, investigations, traffic enforcement, tactical training, and firearms instruction; and

   

WHEREAS, SERGEANT PETER JOSEPH TOKARSKI was promoted to the position of Sergeant in 1991, with supervisory positions that included Patrol Supervisor, Administrative Sergeant, Investigative Sergeant, Traffic Supervisor, Services Supervisor, and Tactical SWAT Team Leader; and

   

WHEREAS, SERGEANT PETER JOSEPH TOKARSKI developed the curriculum for a Patrol Rifle and Active Shooter Course for the Burlingame Police Department and implemented a program to obtain electronic defibrillators for all city departments, for which he received a Burlingame Police Department Meritorious Achievement Award and a Service Award from the Peninsula Council of Lions Clubs.

   

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, on July 2, 2006, hereby honors and commends SERGEANT PETER JOSEPH TOKARSKI for his dedication, loyalty and work ethic, and congratulates him on his retirement from the Burlingame Police Department.
