Amendment to the Agreement with Free at Last for Fiscal Year (FY) 2006-07 Flat Rate Agreement

Recommendation

Adopt a resolution authorizing an Amendment to the Agreement with Free at Last to provide additional funding for men’s residential services, the term remains the same, July 1, 2006 through June 30, 2007, increasing the amount by $82,848 to $515,377.

The Agreement contributes to this commitment and goal by providing individuals and families in San Mateo County with the skills and knowledge necessary to live alcohol and drug free lives, which in turn contributes to the health and safety of the communities in San Mateo County.

Background

On August 1, 2006, the Board of Supervisors, under Resolution No. 068187, approved the Flat Rate Agreements, including one with Free at Last in the amount of $ $432,529.

 

Discussion

This Amendment is necessary to provide additional funding for men’s residential services. The additional funds are to provide drug treatment services for eight (8) additional male clients during FY 2006-07.

 

The Contractor has assured compliance with the County's Contractor Employee Jury Service Ordinance, as well as all other contract provisions that are required by County ordinance and administrative memoranda, including but not limited to insurance, hold harmless, non-discrimination and equal benefits. This Amendment has been reviewed and approved as to form by the County Counsel’s office and Risk Management has approved the Contractors’ Insurance coverage.

 

Fiscal Impact

The term of the Agreement, July 1, 2006 through June 30, 2007, remains the same. The total obligation is increased from $432,529 to $515,377. Funding has been provided by the Alcohol and Other Drug Services trust funds and is included in the FY 2006-07 Adopted Budget. There is no Net County Cost.
