RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO EXECUTE A GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SERVICES (DHS) FOR HEALTH EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $1,640,100 WHICH INCLUDES $1,220,449 FOR THE TERM OF AUGUST 31, 2006 THROUGH AUGUST 31, 2007 FOR ACTIVITIES GOVERNED BY THE CENTERS FOR DISEASE CONTROL AND PREVENTION AND $419,651 FOR THE TERM OF SEPTEMBER 1, 2006 THROUGH AUGUST 31, 2007 FOR ACTIVITIES GOVERNED UNDER THE HEALTH RESOURCES AND SERVICES ADMINISTRATION (HRSA).

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, since 2002 the San Mateo County Health Department has been awarded funding for activities related to bioterrorism preparedness and related activities; and

WHEREAS, the California Department of Health Services has presented a grant Agreement to San Mateo County for 2006-07 for the term of August 31, 2006 to August 31, 2007, for a total award amount of $1,640,100; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with the Agreement and has examined it as to form and content and both parties now wish to enter into said Agreement:

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized and directed to execute said grant Agreement with the California Department of Health Services for bioterrorism preparedness and related activities for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signature thereto.
