RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF TWO GRANT AGREEMENTS, ONE WITH BLUE SHIELD OF CALIFORNIA FOUNDATION FOR THE PERIOD JANUARY 1, 2007 THROUGH NOVEMBER 1, 2007, FOR AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $75,000 AND THE OTHER WITH CALIFORNIA HEALTHCARE FOUNDATION FOR THE PERIOD JANUARY 1, 2007 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2007, FOR AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $50,000

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, to address the challenges facing uninsured adults living in San Mateo County, your Board formed the Blue Ribbon Task Force for Adult Health Care Expansion on June 26, 2006; and

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance two Agreements, reference to which is hereby made for further particulars, whereby Blue Shield of California Foundation and California Healthcare Foundation shall provide funding to support the implementation of the Blue Ribbon Task Force on Adult Health Care Coverage Expansion; and

WHEREAS, the term of the Agreement with Blue Shield of California Foundation is January 1, 2007 through November 1, 2007, for a total amount of $75,000; and the term of the Agreement with California Healthcare Foundation is January 1, 2007 through December 31, 2007, for a total amount of $50,000; and

WHEREAS, this Board of Supervisors has been presented with a form of the Agreements and has examined and approved the Agreements as to form and content and desires to enter into the Agreements:

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Agreements for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto.
