RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH OPPORTUNITIES INDUSTRIALIZATION CENTER WEST (OICW) TO PROVIDE THE ADMINISTRATION OF THE JOBS NOW PROGRAM, THE TERM JULY 1, 2005 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2008, WILL REMAIN THE SAME, INCREASING THE AMOUNT BY $500,000 TO $750,000

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the County and the Contractor entered into Agreement by Resolution 067846 for the term of July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2008 for the purpose of providing job preparation, workshops, employment counseling, structured job search and vocational training for Cal-WORKs participants; and

WHEREAS, OICW has successfully administered this program since 1998; and is a component of the County’s SUCCESS program and a service under the One-Stop Career Center located at Opportunities Industrialization Center West (OICW); and

WHEREAS, the County and the Contractor wish to amend the Agreement to increase the amount by $500,000 for a total obligation of $750,000 adding funds for year two and three of the Agreement for the purpose of continuing services; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such First Amendment and said Board has examined and approved same as to both form and content and desires to enter into the same.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that

The Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized and directed to execute said First Amendment to the Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo; and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signature thereto.
