Resolution Authorizing the Director of Public Works To Post Signs Requiring Parallel Parking Along Alpine Road near Piers Lane, Menlo Park Area

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the State of California Vehicle Code allows a local agency to establish parking zones in public rights-of-ways; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has recommended that there is a need to improve sight distance along a portion of Alpine Road to provide for the orderly movement of traffic; and

WHEREAS, this Board of Supervisors has reviewed and concurs with the recommendation of the Director of Public Works.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that:

The Director of Public Works is authorized to post “Parallel Parking Only” signs:

On the southerly side of ALPINE ROAD commencing at a point approximately 125 feet westerly of the intersection of PIERS LANE and extending westerly, a distance of 170 feet, more or less.
