RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MOU) WITH THE WASHOE TRIBE OF NEVADA AND CALIFORNIA FOR THE PROVISIONS OF THE TRIBAL FAMILY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM FOR THE TERM OF EXECUTION THROUGH JUNE 30, 2008. THERE IS NO COST ASSOCIATED WITH THIS MOU

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, on June 5, 2006 the United States Department of Health and Human Services approved the transfer of the provision of Temporary Assistance to Need Families (TANF) services from the San Mateo County Human Services Agency to the tribal government; and

 

WHEREAS, the Social Security Act, as amended by the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act requires that tribes with approved Family Assistance Plans be issued a Tribal Family Assistance Grant; and

 

WHEREAS, a MOU had been developed that outlines the Human Services Agency and the Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California’s responsibilities in regards to the transfer of TANF services for tribal families; and

 

WHEREAS, This Board has been presented with a form of such MOU and said Board has examined and approved same as to both form and content and desires to enter into the same.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized and directed to execute said MOU for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signature thereto.
