RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE A SECOND AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH SETON MEDICAL CENTER FOR TERTIARY MEDICAL SERVICES, INCREASING THE MAXIMUM AGREEMENT OBLIGATION BY $225,000 FROM $750,000 TO $975,000

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo and Seton Medical Center, by Resolution 67563, entered into an Agreement dated September 20, 2005, pursuant to which the Seton Medical Center provided tertiary medical services for indigent County residents; and

WHEREAS, the term of the Agreement was July 1, 2005 to June 30, 2006, and the maximum amount payable thereunder was $600,000; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 068510 , dated January 23, 2007, the Board authorized an amendment to the Agreement to increase the maximum amount payable thereunder by $150,000, to $750,000; and

WHEREAS, the parties wish to further amend this Agreement to increase the maximum amount payable thereunder by $225,000, to $975,000; and

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance a second Amendment to the Agreement, reference to which is hereby made for further particulars; and

WHEREAS, this Board has approved the second Amendment to the Agreement as to both form and content and desires to enter into it:

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the

President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Amendment to the Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signature thereto.
