RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENTS WITH ASERETH MEDICAL SERVICES, INC., NOR-CAL MEDICAL TEMPS, AND SCRIPTSTAT TO PROVIDE TEMPORARY PHARMACY STAFFING FOR THE TERM APRIL 1, 2007 TO MARCH 31, 2010, IN A TOTAL AGGREGATE AMOUNT FOR ALL CONTRACTS NOT TO EXCEED $150,000, AND 2) AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER (CEO) OF SAN MATEO MEDICAL CENTER (SMMC) OR THE CEO'S DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE CONTRACT AMENDMENTS WHICH MODIFY THE COUNTY'S MAXIMUM FISCAL OBLIGATION BY NO MORE THAN $25,000 (IN AGGREGATE), AND/OR MODIFY THE CONTRACT TERM AND/OR SERVICES SO LONG AS THE MODIFIED TERM OR SERVICES IS/ARE WITHIN THE CURRENT OR REVISED AGGREGATE FISCAL OBLIGATION FOR THE AGREEMENTS

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC) uses multiple pharmacy registries to augment permanent pharmacy staff, to fill vacancies in SMMC’s Pharmacy Department, and as substitutes in the event of employee illnesses or extended leaves of absences; and

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board for its consideration and acceptance agreements, reference to each of which is hereby made for further particulars, whereby Asereth Medical Services, Inc.; Nor-Cal Medical Temps; and ScriptSTAT shall provide temporary pharmacy staffing services at SMMC; and

WHEREAS, this Board, having considered the matter, has determined that it is in the best interest of the County of San Mateo to enter into Agreements with Asereth Medical Services, Inc.; Nor-Cal Medical Temps; and ScriptSTAT to provide temporary pharmacy staffing services at SMMC for the period of April 1, 2007 to March 31, 2010, for a total collective obligation under these Agreements of $150,000; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with forms of agreements for Asereth Medical Services, Inc.; Nor-Cal Medical Temps; and ScriptSTAT and has examined and approved them as to both form and content and desires to enter into them.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the President of the Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said agreements for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signatures thereto.

IT IS HEREBY FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief Executive Officer of San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC) shall be authorized to execute contract amendments which modify the County's maximum fiscal obligation by no more than $25,000 (in aggregate), and/or modify the contract term and/or services so long as the modified term or services is/are within the current or revised aggregate fiscal obligation for the Agreements.
