Temporary Continuation of Contract Payments to Johnson Controls, Inc.
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt a Resolution authorizing the Controller to continue payments on the existing contract with Johnson Controls, Inc. from April 1, 2007 through June 30, 2007.
VISION ALIGNMENT:
Commitment: Ensure basic health and safety for all.
Goal 7: Maintain and enhance the public safety of all residents and visitors.
BACKGROUND:
On June 25, 2002, the County entered into an agreement with Johnson Controls, Inc. to provide maintenance and support services for the security systems operating at the San Mateo Medical Center. The agreement expired March 31, 2007.
DISCUSSION:
To ensure continued provision of services from Johnson Controls, Inc. at the San Mateo Medical Center until the new contract has been finalized, it is necessary to authorize the Controller to continue to make payments through June 30, 2007 at the same rates set forth in the 2002 agreement. This resolution allows Johnson Controls, Inc. to continue to provide the vital services to maintain and operate the security systems smoothly and safely.
County Counsel has reviewed and approved the resolution as to legal form.

FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no effect upon the net County cost.
