RESOLUTION APPROVING THE FILING OF AN APPLICATION FOR AND ACCEPTANCE OF A CALIFORNIA COASTAL CONSERVANCY

GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $90,000 FOR THE FITZGERALD MARINE RESERVE COASTAL TRAIL AND VISITOR ACCESS TO MOSS BEACH PROJECT

AND AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS,

OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO EXECUTE IN THE NAME OF THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO ALL NECESSARY APPLICATIONS, CONTRACTS, AGREEMENTS, AMENDMENTS, PAYMENT REQUESTS, AND ANY OTHER DOCUMENTS HERETO FOR THE PURPOSES SPECIFIED IN THE GRANT APPLICATION

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo wants to undertake the planning and permitting for the Fitzgerald Marine Reserve Coastal Trail and Visitor Access to Moss Beach Project; and

WHEREAS, the State of California Coastal Conservancy will consider the approval of grant funding for planning costs for the Fitzgerald Marine Reserve Coastal Trail and Visitor Access to Moss Beach Project at a May 24, 2007 Board meeting; and

WHEREAS, said procedures established by the Coastal Conservancy require the grantee to certify by resolution the acceptance of such grant agreement and its terms and conditions before submission of said agreement to the State; and

WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo will comply with the assurances

contained in the grant agreement.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Board of Supervisors by adoption of this Resolution, hereby approves the filing of an application for a California Coastal Conservancy grant in the amount of $90,000 for planning costs for the Fitzgerald Marine Reserve Coastal Trail and Visitor Access to Moss Beach Project and hereby accepts a $90,000 grant award.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director, Department of Parks, or his designee, is authorized to execute in the name of the County of San Mateo all necessary applications, contracts, agreements, amendments, payment requests and any other documents hereto for the purposes specified in the grant application.
