THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING

Ron Grimes

Upon his departure from the Office of Congressman Tom Lantos (CA-12)

*******************************

WHEREAS, RON GRIMES came to Capitol Hill in 1983 as an American Political Science Fellow and Carl Albert Fellow from the University of Oklahoma; and

WHEREAS, RON GRIMES served as Legislative Director to Congressman Tom Lantos (CA-12) representing San Mateo County and San Francisco, California for the 107^th and 108th Congresses during which time Congressman Lantos was Chairman of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs and a senior member of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform; and

WHEREAS, RON GRIMES managed domestic policy with particular interests in appropriations and budget, transportation and the environment during the 107th and 108th Congresses 2003-2007; and

WHEREAS, during his time with Congressman Tom Lantos, RON GRIMES worked tirelessly on behalf of the County of San Mateo to protect and advance the County’s interests on Capitol Hill; and

WHEREAS, RON GRIMES has helped to protect federal funding for Devil’s Slide, assisted in the extension of San Mateo County’s Moving-to-Work Demonstration Project, and helped secure funding for critical projects in San Mateo County.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, hereby extends their gratitude to RON GRIMES for his leadership, creativity, dedication, compassion and commitment to the people of San Mateo County and wishes him all the best in the next phase of his life.
