BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

ADOPT A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR AND ACCEPTANCE OF A SAN FRANCISCO BAY TRAIL PROJECT GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $348,000 FROM THE ASSOCIATION OF BAY AREA GOVERNMENTS FOR THE COYOTE POINT BAY TRAIL PROJECT; AND AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS OR HIS DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE IN THE NAME OF THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO ALL NECESSARY APPLICATIONS, CONTRACTS, AGREEMENTS, AMENDMENTS AND PAYMENT REQUESTS HERETO FOR THE PURPOSES OF IMPLEMENTING THE PURPOSES SPECIFIED IN THE GRANT APPLICATION

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, the voters of California passed the Safe Neighborhood Parks, Clean Water, Clean Air and Coastal Protection Act of 2002 Bond Act, which act designated funds for the San Francisco Bay Trail Project; and

 

WHEREAS, the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) has been delegated the responsibility for the administration of the San Francisco Bay Trail Project, setting up necessary procedures governing grant applications by local agencies, businesses and non-profit organizations under the program; and

 

WHEREAS, said procedures established by ABAG require that the applicant certify by resolution acceptance of the grant; and

 

WHEREAS, San Mateo County will enter into an agreement with ABAG for implementation of the project.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Board of Supervisors by adoption of this Resolution approves the application for and acceptance of a San Francisco Bay Trail Project Grant in the amount of $348,000 from the Association of Bay Area Governments for the Coyote Point Bay Trail Project and authorizes the Director of the Department of Parks or his designee to execute in the name of the County of San Mateo all necessary applications, contracts, agreements, amendments and payment requests hereto for the purposes of implementing the purposes specified in the grant application.
