Disposition of Claims Filed Against County

 

RECOMMENDATION:

Deny the claims listed below.

BACKGROUND:

Under authority of Resolution No. 35006 and Ordinance No. 2321, the Board directed the Director to process claims filed against the County. Further investigation may indicate justification for payment by the County. If so, payment will be made under the authority of the Risk Manager or will be brought back to the Board.

Claimant alleges that when he was released from custody he was immediately transferred to Psychiatric Emergency Services at SMMC, and therefore, did not sign a release for his personal belongings; his leather coat, shoes and a single diamond earring were missing from his property bag.

Claimant alleges that her daughter, Peti Prescott, was given the wrong medication during her stay at San Mateo Medical Center which caused physical pain to the child, while her family endured pain and suffering.
