RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING

Jobs for Youth

Upon Its

25th Anniversary

WHEREAS, since 1982, the San Mateo County Jobs for Youth program has provided training and opportunities for teenagers and young adults looking for positive first steps toward individual career goals; and

   

WHEREAS, the Jobs for Youth program, funded mainly through the county’s Human Services Agency, serves anyone age 14 to 21, regardless of address, income, risk level or socio-economic status; and

   

WHEREAS, from resume writing to interview skills to physical appearance and workplace etiquette, Jobs for Youth volunteers and staff work with clients, often individually to help ensure success in the highly competitive job market; and

   

WHEREAS, over the years, an estimated 26,000 youth from throughout the region have benefited from the guidance and advice of the Jobs for Youth program, allowing a great many of them to grow and reach ever higher goals.

   

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County congratulates the staff and volunteers of the San Mateo County Jobs for Youth program upon its 25th anniversary. The Board hereby expresses its gratitude and extends sincere wishes for many more years of continuous success and excellence.
