RESOLUTION 1) WAIVING THE REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL PROCESS, AND 2) AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH MARIN DAY SCHOOLS / BRIGHT HORIZONS TO MANAGE THE COUNTY’S DAY CARE CENTER (OUR PLACE) FOR THE PERIOD FROM SEPTEMBER 1, 2007 THROUGH AUGUST 31, 2012 FOR A MAXIMUM ANNUAL OBLIGATION OF $115,000 WITH THE OPTION BY THE COUNTY TO CONTINUE THE CONTRACT FOR AN ADDITIONAL FIVE YEAR PERIOD.

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the County has contracted with Marin Day Schools / Bright Horizons to manage its child care center since 1993; and

WHEREAS, the County has conducted a previous Request for Proposal in 2002 and Marin Day Schools / Bright Horizons was selected as the provider in that competitive process; and

WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with a recommendation to extend the current contract waiving the Request for Proposal process.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Board of Supervisors waive the Request for Proposal process and authorize the President of the Board to execute an agreement with Marin Day Schools / Bright Horizons for the period from September 1, 2007 through August 31, 2012 for a maximum obligation of $115,000 with the option by the County to continue the contract for an additional five year period.
